Macalloy origins stem from the earliest days of reinforced concrete engineering.

Since 1921 significant advances in reinforced concrete and post tensioned concrete technology, have been mirrored by Macalloy. Thousands of structures worldwide have been post tensioned with Macalloy threaded bars and fittings. The leading post tensioning bar system since 1948, it has an established range of diameters from 25 mm to 75 mm. Macalloy boasts many of the worlds premier concrete engineering bar products;

  • 50mm and 75 mm dia post tensioning bar
  • Stainless steel post tensioning bars
  • Macalloy 500 reinforcing bar
  • Macalloy 650 Stainless bar
  • 15mm and 20mm formwork tie bar

Mini Piling and Soil Nails regularly utilise Macalloy 500 threaded rebar system to provide a simple, robust, flexible solution for use in ground engineering, and tying applications. The bar is made from a high yield reinforcing steel with a range of couplers and nuts designed to accommodate virtually every reinforcement application.

Macalloy have been suppliers to the sheet piling tie market for over 40 years. We draw on that experience to develop solutions for all tying problems with Macalloy 17MHS bars which are now available with a 3173kN yield and a 1587kN permanent working load.

Many Macalloy ground engineering products are regularly used for holding down systems for projects as diverse as:

  • Telecommunication masts
  • Nuclear power station portal frames
  • Wind power turbines
  • Statues and sculpture bases
