Dubai Metro opens to the public - 01/10/2009

Throughout the construction of Dubai Metro, Macalloy has supplied tie rods in a range of diameters, for both the red and green line.

On September 9th 2009, the first section of the red line, covering 10 stations, was ceremonially opened by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai.
The metro will join an elite list of cities that effectively commute by rail including London, New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The Metro was open for public use on September 10th.
