Macalloy 500

Offers a convenient yet economical alternative to conventional coupled reinforcing bar where a coupling or anchorage is needed. Macalloy 500 is a high strength deformed reinforcing bar with hot rolled deformations especially designed to provide a serviceable thread along its full length.

• Macalloy 500 is manufactured in accordance with BS4449, and UK CARES approved for use as a reinforcing bar in any appropriate location.
• Bar diameters upto 40mm are UK Cares approved to BS449 and 50, 63.5 and 75mm diameter bars are UK Cares approved to the Macalloy 500 specification.

The Macalloy 500 bar is threaded along its full length allowing cuts and trimming on site.  This has particular benefits to the geotechnical industry where embedment depths often cannot be predicted with accuracy. However the extra flexibility provided by Macalloy 500 permits site coupling of reinforcing bar with relatively low technology, providing significant benefits over the conventional re-bar coupling systems:

• The coarse thread profile provides a threaded bar which is robust, self - cleaning and easy to assemble on site.
•  Macalloy 500 can be welded on site using standard high yield re bar welding techniques.
