Macalloy Anchor Bar
The Allt - Na - Liairige dam in Scotland completed in 1956 was one of the first applications of this type of technology and successfully used the Macalloy 1030 bar. Macalloy as always, has remained at the forefront of technology, now providing the highest capacity mono bar anchor available with double corrosion protection in accordance with BS 8081.
Ground anchors are installed in various types and applications; Permanent or Temporary, Internally debonded or externally debonded, restressable anchor heads, anchor heads with different resistance to high head of water. Temporary anchors are constructed using a simple bar cast into the securing grout, and debonded with a duct over the appropriate region.
Permanent anchors are constructed with single or double corrosion protection with notable advantages;
- Monobar system with anchor working loads from 25 kN. to 2155 kN
- Monobar construction with simple stressing and load cycling
- Fully threaded design permitting the bar to be cut and joined at any point
- Very low lock off loss's
- Ease of transport to site
- Ease of storage on site Short anchor sections often allowing drilling crews to install without craneage
- Easy to install in restricted areas Load checks easily performed without jeopardising the integrity of the anchorage.
- Restressable and destressable many times without reducing service capacity Free sections can be made removable
Production of the Macalloy Bar Anchor is completed using two types of material described in other locations, Macalloy 1030 and Macalloy 500.
