AEL F.C. Arena is the new homeground of Superleague Greece football team AEL 1964 FC. The construction of the stadium started on September 2009 and was completed in November 2010. The Capacity is 16,118 all covered, with the possibility to expand to 18,000 for the 2013 Mediterranean Games. The stadium is part of a athletic center, which includes 38 VIP boxes in the stadium, parking lots for 1,104 vehicles, commercial spaces, a movie theater and a 1500-seat open-air theater.
Macalloy 25mm and 32mm post tensioning bars were used as anchor and holding bolts for the steel support columns.
