Ice Stadium Inzell
Year of Completion 2010
The Bavarian municipality of Inzell will be the venue of the Ice Speed Skating World Cup 2011. The existing facilities, spectacularly located at the foot of the Alps are to be overhauled. In order to create optimum competition conditions for this prestigious event and other future, regular races, the existing outdoor ice rink is to be retained and housed beneath a new roof structure with a dynamic, signature form. The new arena will offer maximum flexibility for training and large-scale competitions, accommodating up to 6,000 spectators.
The construction of the 82.5m-spanned roof is
made from glue-laminated timber with the support of Macalloy 460 and Macalloy 520
tendons, to form timber-steel trusses.
Macalloy’s customer on this project is Grossman Bau.
