After declining visitor numbers over the last two decades, the Lough Key Forest Park, Co.Roscommon, under went a £5m development with the aim of becoming a family focused facility.
One of the key developments was the construction of a 250m long elevated tree top walkway, which required the combination of both Macalloy S460 and 460 tendons in diameters M24, M36 and M42. The tendons were chosen to provide stability to the deck, which was held in tension by an arrangement of V-shaped trusses underneath, connected with Macalloy stainless steel tie bars.
