The extension of the metro line in Prague, is set to transform transport links in the large residential area of Prosek, which is an up and coming area to the centre of Prague itself.
Tension Systems s.r.o. Macalloy’s successful Czech distributor, recently won the project to supply the tendons supporting the steel structure of the metro station Prosek. A series of M30, M48 and M16 tendons were used complete with forks, pins, lock covers and turnbuckle joints, all in Macalloy 460 stainless steel. Once in situ, the stainless tendons were then tensioned using the Macalloy TechnoTensioner. Special M56 stainless pins were also manufactured for use in the main pillars of the structure. The project was successfully completed in May 2008.
