Resembling a “basket handle”, the superstructure of the bridge architecture is unique. The look of the bridge itself makes it a very iconic landmark structure. The “basket handles” – i.e. the two steel arches on either side of the road slab, are joined at the crest with the height of the crown of arches 22.5 meters above the road level. The RCC slab of main span is supported by structural steel work with M76 Macalloy 520 tension rods suspended from the arch.
