Macalloy Architectural Tension Bars at Walverdagne Bridge, Luxembourg

A series of Macalloy products were used for this Stayed Pedestrian Bridge in Luxembourg, including Macalloy Tie rods / Tension Bars.

The bridge deck of Walverdagne bridge in Luxembourg is suspended with Macalloy tie rods acting as stays. The main tower is a curved steel structure. Macalloy tension bars are used as back stays and anchored to one river bank, with tension bars coming from the tower at varying heights to suspend the bridge deck.

The Macalloy site services team provided support for the installation including undertaking controlled stressing of the tension members.
