Macalloy Tie Rods / Tension Bars were used throughout Munich airport. The products supplied by Macalloy were integral to the airport design.
Macalloy tension bars are used to install tension in the airport visitor centre at Munich airport. Macalloy tie rods are anchored to the ground tensioning steel upright posts and also help suspend the roof structure from above.
The airport centre provides a covered area between Terminals 1 and 2 at Munich airport and houses retails, leisure and business facilities. The use of Macalloy tie rods provides an architectural link to Terminal 2 where Macalloy tension bars are also used in the construction.
Macalloy provided support for the construction of the large canopy structure by hiring it tie bar tensioning equipment including Macalloys unique TechnoTensioner.
