Macalloy stainless steel tension bars are used in the roof structure of the Scottish Parliament building in Edinburgh. The tension rods are used to tension the glulam roof structure in the debating chamber and are connected to striking timber roof trusses.
The debating chamber provides a large open plan space with 131 seats for the members of parliament and viewing galleries.
