A new 100-metre network arch bridge spanning the Waikato river features 76 'hangars' of M64 galvanised steel Macalloy bar.
Strung between the deck and 50-tonne arch structure, the Grade 460 hangars provide essential support for the new bridge, which is a key part of the new 16-kilometre East taupo Arterial route. BBR contech supplied the hangers, complete with forks and pins to steelwork subcontractor Tenix Robt Stone who is installing them for main contractor Fulton Hogan.
