The Forth Road Bridge, Scotland, UK



The Forth Road Bridge, Scotland also known as the Queensferry Crossing is 1.7 miles long (while the overall size of the crossing including motorway is over 13 miles). The project was completed and opened in August 2017, some 53 years since the last Road bridge and completing 3 bridges spanning 3 Centuries. The Bridge spans the Firth of Forth or known by its Gealic name “Abhainn Dubh” or the “Black River” and provides a direct Gateway to northern Scotland. Macalloy has provided 1030 Post Tensioning Bar in a variety of sizes between 26.5mm and 50mm in carbon and stainless material. Along with the bespoke plates these help to hold down the piers along the bridge within the concrete groundwork's.
