Macalloy Tension Bars Suspend Airport Concourse; Dubai, United Arab Emirates



A series of Macalloy Tie Rods / Tension Bars were used in the construction of this suspended concourse, built purposely to link two areas of the airport together. The products supplied by Macalloy were integral to the airport design.

Macalloy tie rods are used to suspend a concourse linking Dublin airports 2 terminals. The whole strucutue is suspended by Macalloy tie bars from 2 steel stations.

Macalloy’s site services team undertook on-site stressing of the tension bars, ensuring correct installation and tension was achieved.

Macalloy tension bars are also used as bracing within the steel structure of the main terminal 2 building and the suspended concourse.

The second terminal is capable of handling 15 million passengers, allowing the airport to handle 35 million passengers a year.

Macalloy at Ecobuild, Kuala Lumpur

Congratulations to Macalloy Representative, @Sern Liang Lim and his team for exhibiting at Ecobuild SEA for the second year running.  A very productive few days.

Ecobuild SEA, held in conjunction with International Construction Week, is currently the largest construction trade event in Malaysia.

VTB Arena, Moscow Russia

Work is well under way at the VTB Arena - also known as Dynamo Central Stadium. Macalloy have provided galvanised 520 Grade Tension Rods in M16, M85 and M100. Work is expected to be completed later on this year, ready to host FIFA 2018 World Cup. Macalloy is also supplying Tension Rods to 4 other Russian Stadiums/Arena's - again these venues will be hosting the 2018 World Cup.
